I have a horse to call my own!

This past sunday, 8-16-09 I went with my trainer to see a prospective school horse. We found two horses in horrible conditions and were being starved. The school horse turned out to be PERFECT. Harley however has no teeth on the top, feet that need immediate care and is atleast 250 pounds under weight.

While we were trying Harley I fell in love with his pasture mate Hawkeye. When it came time to leave I couldn't stand to leave this boy. I put him in the round pen and he joined up immediately, he let me touch and prod every inch of his body and didn't offer a kick as his owner accused. I talked things over and when me and three girls went to catch him he ran. I told the three girls to wait and it only took 3 steps before he came right to me.

So now he is being pampered and loved at Mone Farms where I've been riding and I'm going to work with him for atleast two weeks before I try backing him. The lady said she'd been on him a few times but he was a bucker. We'll see how things go.
